PoE Ethernet Switch
Power-over-Ethernet technology enables an Ethernet switch to deliver data and power over a standard Cat-5 cable. Silicon Labs PoE solutions address both ends of the cable. The source of the power is referred to as the Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE). PSEs are either endpoints (Ethernet switches), or midspans (power injectors). Powered Devices (PDs) are at the other end of the cable and receive power from the PSE. Common PDs are VoIP phones, Wireless Access Points, IP cameras, Point-of-Sale terminals, RFID readers, and building automation and security devices.
