CT Scanner
CT scanners use computed tomography (CT) techniques to produce high resolution 3D images of internal body parts, providing significantly improved contrast versus X-ray equipment. Data acquisition is managed by a series of channel cards, each of which requires low phase noise clock sources to provide reference timing for analog-to-digital converters (ADC) capturing the X-ray images. The captured data is transferred to the controller card for image processing. DSPs and FPGA used for image processing require multiple reference clocks that can be generated by Silicon Labs low jitter, any-frequency clock generators.
