Video Solutions

Silicon Labs provides tuner ICs and demodulators for terrestrial and cable platforms including: iDTVs, set-top boxes (STBs) and satellite STB front-ends. The Silicon Labs’ patented low-IF tuner architecture has been enhanced through three generations to tackle the many real-world non-standard terrestrial and cable broadcasts. The five member Si21x6 silicon TV tuner IC family reduces cost with a smaller package, smaller PCB and lower cost external components. The family operates from a common API software interface which greatly shortens the learning curve when moving from worldwide hybrid HDTVs, to regionalized platforms, to STBs, while also delivering industry leading RF performance like the popular Si2173 already in high volume production at 5 of the top 7 TV brands.
