ClockBuilder™ Custom Clock Utilities

Silicon Labs’ ClockBuilder™ tools are used to configure the clock generator family of timing products. ClockBuilder Desktop software is used to create custom configurations for devices programmed by the I2C-compatible interface (e.g. Si5338, Si5356), and the ClockBuilder web-based utility can be used to specify requirements for a custom, pin-controlled clock generator IC (e.g. Si5355).

The custom clock wizard walks you through the steps needed to customize your clock.

Choose whether you will control the clock via pins or an I2C serial interface. Pin control clocks like the Si5335, Si5350 and Si5355 devices can be configured online. I2C programmable clocks are configured using the ClockBuilder Desktop software application.

Silicon Labs Clock Generators

Silicon Labs clock generator IC solutions support any frequency on any output with guaranteed 0 ppm frequency synthesis error. Designers can take advantage of this feature to quickly develop custom, application-specific clock generators that support any combination of user-specified input/output frequencies. One device can replace multiple clocks and oscillators in a design, saving cost, board space, and power while simplifying the design. A unique part number with a custom top mark is generated for each unique device configuration, simplifying traceability and procurement.
