Silicon Labs' highly flexible, factory and I2C programmable and factory customizable LVCMOS clock generators can be customized to generate multiple independent non-integer-related frequencies with equivalent frequency synthesis capability of 8 PLLs, with exact frequency synthesis (0 ppm error), at significantly lower jitter, lower power and smaller size than competing solutions. Factory customized options are available to minimize electromagnetic interference, including programmable edge rates, programmable impedance and programmable skew.

​The highly flexible, programmable Si5350/51 CMOS clock generators can be customized to generate up to eight independent non-integer-related frequencies.

Si5350/51 clock generators feature an integrated VCXO, which eliminates the need for custom, pullable crystals. Si5350/51 clock generators are optimized for low jitter clock generation in cost-sensitive consumer, enterprise and communications applications.

These programmable clock generator devices provide:

  • Frequency synthesis capability of 8 PLLs
  • Significantly lower jitter, lower power and smaller size
  • Support for any frequency from 8 kHz to 133 MHz with 0 ppm frequency synthesis error
  • Replacement solution for both fixed-frequency clock ICs and crystal oscillators (XOs)

 

The SL38xxx family consists of 4 PLL Clock LVCMOS Generators offered in 5 output (16-pin TSSOP) and 11 output (28-pin TSSOP) packages. Practically any frequency from 1 to 200+ MHz can be generated with core operating voltages of 2.5 and 3.3 V. Optionally, outputs can be powered from a separate 1.8 V supply rail to support lower voltage interfaces. Like the SL15xxx family, the SL38xxx family addresses electromagnetic interference (EMI) compliance issues through a variety configurable AC output parameters including rise/fall times and output drive. To further insure against electromagnetic interference issues, spread spectrum profiles including center and down spread (0.25 to 5.0%) are supported that provide from 8 to 16 dB peak EMI reduction. The SL38xxx family is customizable at the factory to provide either a pin control interface or an I2C control interface.
