Silicon Labs Integrated Development Environment (IDE)

The Silicon Labs Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is a complete, stand-alone software program that includes a project manager, source editor, source-level debugger and other utilities. The IDE interfaces to third party development tool chains to provide system designers a complete embedded software development environment for the entire 8-bit microcontroller (MCU) portfolio.

This release (4.5) of the IDE includes:

  • Added support for C8051F390/1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9 devices
  • Added support for C8051T626/7 devices
  • Implemented a smart download feature that verifies on all pages prior to programming — if a page has not changed, the page will not be programmed
  • Added functionality to track common file dialog directories independently of each other
  • Common file dialog boxes (open/save) have been updated to use a resizable version of the dialog box
  • Support added to automatically generate hex file
