AEC-Q100 Certified Automotive MicrocontrollersSilicon Labs' automotive and industrial microcontrollers (MCUs) are auto-grade products qualified and tested to the AEC-Q100 specification with high temperature operation up to 125 °C. The C8051F5xx industrial and automotive microcontrollers include a CAN 2.0B interface, LIN 2.1 interface, an integrated precision oscillator (±0.5%) that allows full spec operation without an external crystal oscillator and 1.8 to 5.25 V supply voltage. Both the C8051F5xx and C8051F85x/6x families feature a 12-bit ADC and are implemented in small form factor packages.

Hardware LIN 2.1 Controller

The LIN hardware implementation offers advantages over competing UART or software implementations. The dedicated message buffer and hardware generated flow control timing results in higher overall system bandwidth in our industrial and automotive microcontrollers. The standard register-based control interface simplifies communication software development and minimizes code size.

Ultra-Precision Oscillator (±0.5%)

With ±0.5% tolerance across temperature (–40 to 125 ºC) and voltage (1.8 to 5.25 V), the C8051F5xx industrial and automotive microcontroller family offers a fully integrated LIN 2.1 master-mode implementation without any external timing components. The ultra-precision internal oscillator is configured to maximum instruction clock (25 MHz), resulting in no compromise between using an internal oscillator and achieving maximum CPU bandwidth.
