C8051F990 Ultra low-power capacitive touch sensing and QuickSense™ Touch Slider Evaluation Kit

The C8051F990 Slider Evaluation Kit demonstrates the system level possibilities that can be achieved when combining Silicon Labs QuickSense™ technology with the C8051F99x ultra low power capacitive sensing MCU. The result is a battery powered capacitive sensing slider board that can be used to demonstrate several key features of the C8051F99x ultra low power MCU:

  • Wake-on-Slide – No off switch! Ultra low power wake-on-touch.
  • QuickSense Slider Control – Multiple capacitive sensing pads bound together to form a slider control.
  • Gesture Recognition – QuickSense events enable gesture detection, such as a 'pinch' on the slider.
  • Battery Meter – Measures the battery voltage and displays remaining voltage level.
  • LED Dimmer – Dynamically reduces LED power consumption by driving the LEDs with a PWM signal.
  • Small Layout – Few discrete components that save the cost of crystals, resistors, capacitors, and board space.
