Silicon Labs Enables Wireless Technology Solutions

Silicon Labs offers the world's most integrated, robust, reliable and easiest-to-use wireless and RF IC solutions available in the market today. By leveraging mixed-signal IC design in standard CMOS, we are able to eliminate many discretes and use fewer external components than competing solutions. Silicon Labs wireless technology has enabled the development of these wireless modules for use in smart metering, home automation, security systems, medical devices and other wireless applications.

Synapse RF Engine® Module

Combining Silicon Labs’ Si1000 wireless microcontroller (MCU) with the award-winning Synapse SNAP® network operating system from Synapse Wireless®, Inc. The jointly developed module makes it easy to deploy scalable, ultra low-power and small-footprint wireless mesh networking solutions for smart metering, building automation, lighting control, personal medical devices, asset tracking systems and other wireless applications.

IMST iM871A Wireless M-Bus Module

The comprehensive hardware/software solution combines IMST’s industry-leading expertise in the wireless M-Bus market with Silicon Labs’ Si10xx wireless microcontroller technology to offer a turnkey solution for smart metering applications connecting water, heat, electricity and gas meters with data concentrators in the 868 MHz frequency band.

Hope Microelectronics RF Modules

Based on Silicon Labs’ EZRadioPRO® wireless radio family, Hope Microelectronics’ new RFM23B and RFM31B family of RF modules provide cost-effective, turnkey wireless networking solutions for bidirectional and one-way link applications. This solution targets applications such as smart meters, in-vehicle anti-theft alarm systems, home automation systems, HVAC control units, residential security systems, high-speed data acquisition systems and wireless toys.

Telit Wireless Solutions' Wireless M-Bus Module

Telit Wireless Solutions has introduced a wireless M-Bus module, based on the Si443x EZRadioPRO® RF transceiver family. The ME50-868 module supports uni- and bidirectional RF connections at 868 MHz between meters for gas, water, heating or electricity and concentrators. This exchange of data forms the basis for the use of smart meters, which can increase the accuracy and transparency of bills, offer better customer service and help improve energy efficiency.
