The Si4749/06 are ideal RDS/RBDS data receivers for RDS Traffic Message Channel (TMC) and Open Data Applications (ODA) frequently used in conjunction with GPS functionality. They offer a fully-integrated RDS/RBDS decoder including demodulation, symbol decoding, advanced error correction, detailed visibility to block-error rates (BLER) and decoder reliability, synchronization status and times. The Si4749/06 provide complete, decoded and error-corrected RDS groups up to 25 groups at a time with accompanying BLER by block.
 The Si4749/06 incorporate a high performance RDS/RBDS decoder based on patented methodologies, and deliver excellent RDS/RBDS sensitivity performance, synchronization to RDS/RBDS at high BLER levels, and RDS/RBDS data decoding with superior decoder reliability. The Si4749/06 draw on Silicon Labs' proven broadcast audio product portfolio and corresponding patent family using a digital low intermediate frequency (low-IF) architecture proven by over 100 million broadcast audio receivers shipped worldwide. The low-IF architecture allows the Si4749/06 to deliver superior performance while integrating the great majority of external components required by competing solutions.
The Si4749 is an ideal companion RDS/RBDS background data receiver for automotive applications using RDS TMC and ODA, and as an alternate frequency (AF) scanner. The Si4749 is offered in a compact 4x4x0.85 mm 24-pin (QFN) package and is AECQ-100 qualified.
 The Si4706 is an ideal RDS/RBDS data receiver for RDS TMC and ODA applications in personal navigation devices (PNDs) and other portable devices that offer GPS functionality. The Si4706 supports Silicon Labs' embedded antenna technology, allowing the antenna to be integrated into the enclosure of a portable device. This eliminates the need for external FM antenna cables.
