Mixed-Signal ICs - Si3016

SummaryFeaturesDocumentationProducts Matrix

The Si3016 is the line-side portion of an integrated silicon Direct Access Arrangement (DAA) that offers global compliance through a programmable telephone line interface.

This line-side device digitally connects via Silicon Laboratories' patented technology to a system-side device that has been integrated into a host processor or DSP. The device is fully programmable for AC and DC termination, ringer impedance and ringer threshold and supports billing tone detection, polarity reversal and pulse dialing, enabling it to meet the most stringent global PTT requirements. The Si3016 offers a number of new features, including line voltage monitoring (up to 72 V in 2.25 V/bit resolution), parallel phone detection, higher transmit/receive levels (up to +3.2 dBm) and lower telephone line current consumption in on-hook line monitor (caller ID) mode.

Characteristic of Silicon Laboratories' DAA products, the Si3016 offers the highest level of integration by replacing the codec, isolation transformer, relays, opto-isolators, 2–4 wire hybrid and DC holding circuit with a single 16-pin small outline package.
