The Si306x silicon Direct Access Arrangement (DAA) products are a family of
line-side devices for use with third-party processors that contain an
integrated Silicon Laboratories DAA interface.
The line-side devices in this product family digitally connect via Silicon
Laboratories' patented communications link to a system-side module that has
been integrated into a third-party processor or DSP. The DAA features
supported in this product family include full programmability for AC and DC
termination, ringer impedance and ringer threshold. This product family also
supports billing tone detection, on and off-hook polarity reversal detection
and pulse dialing, enabling it to meet the most stringent global PTT
requirements. Other enhanced features offered in the chipset include on and
off-hook parallel phone detection, overcurrent protection and ring validation.
Like other Silicon Laboratories DAA products, the Si306x family of line-side
devices offers the highest level of integration by replacing the codec,
isolation transformer, relay, opto-isolators, 2-4 wire hybrid and DC holding
circuit with a single 8-pin or 16-pin SOIC package and minimal external
components. The Si306x line-sides can support any modem speed.
