I am running a 64bit Windows 7 pc, connected to a Yaesu FTdx3000 Transceiver. Certain software applications require the Virtual COM Port Drivers installed. I had previously installed these, however recently, they have not been working (following a Windows update??). I have uninstalled the drivers, and tried to re-install them, but keep getting the following message from the Device Installation Wizard: "Cannot complete the device driver installation Wizard: The device driver installation wizard was unable to find any drivers designed for your machine. Check with the vendor or your site administrator to ensure you have the correct program."
Can someone advise what I need to do to install these drivers? I have followed the installation manual to the letter.
Thank you for contacting to Silicon Labs technical support regarding to VCP driver.
To understand more about the problem, could you please provide us some information as below:
In addition, could you please provide us your issue screen capture?
1. Yes, worked successfully for at least 2 years. last worked successfully in Oct 2020.
2. Running Windows 7 Professional for the last 4 years
3. I can't tell you the previous version. I downloaded it from the Yaesu website.
4 . The current version I have tried to down load is from your websiteVCP driver version
According to your provided information, I didn't see that your packaged download contains a driver release notes.
In fact, we've added these release notes to each driver package. And, a list of supported Windows versions is identified in this file. Could you please tried to verify this information on your package?
Anyway, could you please try to test with CP210x_Windows_driver package which downloaded from the link below (two links)?
Hope it works.
Could you please help us to install this driver version on the other Windows 7 machine? Currently, we're not able to reproduce this issue on our environment. In my opinion, I guess it might come from some problem occur during the Windows update process.
By the way, You're able to update Silicon Labs driver by right-click the device and select "Update driver". Then, follow the dialogue and point device manager at the VCP package you downloaded.
