Under the Device Options step in the VCP customization wizard, the dialog will present an option to disable selective suspend or enable selective suspend and specify a timeout value in millisecond.
Uncheck the Selective Suspend Support checkbox to completely disable the selective suspend feature for VCP devices that load this driver. This will also disable the feature in Device Manager.
If selective suspend is enabled, the user can enter a timeout value in milliseconds. After the device remains inactive for the specificed number of milliseconds, the device will automatically enter a low power USB suspend state.
Enabling/Disabling Selective Suspend Using Device Manager
Selective suspend can be disabled for a USB device by opening the device properties in Device Manager. Unchecking the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power checkbox on the Power Management page will disable selective suspend for the device.
