Hi, you all the designers at Si Lab.
I use extensively C8051F410. Often, we find it scarce of Digital IOs. One 8 bit IO port, additional, in the existing chip would have made life lot easier in implementing it in more application.
Can you suggest big brother of C8051F410 with all the existing resources retained intact ?
Moreover, addition Features like brown out detection. Low RTC Batt detection one additional 16 bit timer and some more; (its designers know better) would make it great.
Please suggest an enhance alternative to C8051F410. If not please launch One! ( Good Market exists.)
Some small things like C8051F410 are very good. just one 8 bit IO port can make it great.
What do you mean like "big brother?"
You are probably better off defining what peripherals you need, how much RAM you need and how much code memory (flash) you need, and then look through the offerings to see which devices are a best match.
SiLabs has a lot of parts, in both the C8051F series and the EFM8, that are "big brothers" to the F410.
just one 8 bit IO port can make it great.
AFAIK F410 was launched many years ago.

I admire Si Lab has extensive range of Mixed signal, Analog Intensive Microcontrollers.
However, in many applications, I have to continue using 8051 core. The reasons are good and compelling too.
C8051F410, although quite an old release, is fine fit in most of my applications, where I need to built a "test and control system" of which there are many versions and I need to utilize most resources provided in C8051F410.
While using it, I often find it short of Digital IOs, particularly when most of the resources are necessarily engaged on its pins.
The higher end microcontrollers with similar or more resources do not have Battery Back-up RTC and /or 12 bit Current output DACs (at least 2.) Yeah, I have gone through the selection table and (unless I have missed something,) I do not find a “Mixed signal, Analog Intensive Microcontrollers that can replace C8051f410 with additional port and of course more pin out package.
I could have enumerated my requirement in terms of memory type, size, Timers, Comparators and so on, instead I mentioned C8051F410 to make it short.
Experts can drill down with ease and revel. May be I was unsuccessful to locate the device that really exists.

I have tried it. I do not find a parameter like "RTC" based on which I can search and short list uCs that can suit my requirements.
1. I think Si Lab 8 Bit Parametric search engine needs to be updated to embrace the missing parameter/ uC resources.
2. My original question remains.

If you only care about the RTC, you may take a look at C8051F96x, F98x and F91x.
EFM8SB also have RTC peripheral.
Thanks for informing me of the 8 bit uCs with peripheral RTC.
Expert erikm suggested me of link https://www.silabs.com/products/parametric-search/microcontrollers/ps-filter/sl-mcucore=8051. This sorting engine of Si Lab do not take RTC peripheral as sorting parameter/peripheral along with other required parameters. Because of which, this link was of hardly any use in sorting uC that I was looking for. Therefore, the question was changed and raised with for RTC as a prime parameter.
Anyway, I have checked the datasheet of the suggested uCs. These have RTC as pointed by you. However, these lack some or other resources which are required along with RTC, which could make it as I say “Enhanced Version of C8051F410.”
Based on the information provided by you all Si Lab experts, so far; The takeaway is:
1. There is no uC that has all the resources/peripherals along with at least one more 8 bit digital i/o port that can replace C8051F410. Si Lab Marketing/Sales force can take a note of this finding and introduce one. I’ll be happy to tell you all, what more is required to make it attractive and beneficial to many users /customers like me.
2. Si Lab should upgrade “8Bit uC finder/sorting provision” to include sort by parameters/ peripherals like RTC and more, on link https://www.silabs.com/products/parametric-search/microcontrollers/ps-filter/sl-mcucore=8051
3. Until upgrade/Enhanced Version of C8051F410 is available I'll have to use it with compromises or change my design with other better uC.
