CP210x and windows 7/8/8.1 drivers support remote desktop services - help
Hello Marao , so after a while I get back to you and add info from testing. To begin with, I have to say that I misinterpreted the problem with the CP2102 chipset. This is a problem with the CP2102N. Model CP2102 - works properly in all conditions. Win 7, Win 8, win 8.1 and Win 10 The problem is the CP2102N model - this model does not work properly with RDS services with Windows 10 and the current driver. If you use driver version 10.1.4. (info from drivers RELEASE NOTES Package version: 10.1.4 This package contains a Virtual COM Port Universal driver for Microsoft If I use any other older or newer driver for Windows 10 e.g. 10.1.9.2677 - communication does not work. Can you check the difference between driver version 10.1.4. and newer? well thank you |

Hello Marao , i was very pleased with this report. I'm trying to solve the problem by creating a virtual port with standard windosws drivers. Virtual COM port is in bridge with CP2102 COM port. I map a virtual port to a windows server from where it sends data correctly across the bridge to CP2102. But it is a complicated solution for the end customer and for us to service. Please keep me informed about the solution. well thank you |

However, according to the description, Windows 8.1 and even Windows 7 is still supported, even 8.1 until 2023. Can't we really reconsider the ability to generate a fix for these operating systems? Only about 15,000 devices are in our country, and this number will increase as legislation changes and while it is the only manufacturer with a given chipset. Windows 7 Service Pack 1 January 13, 2015 January 14, 2020 well thank you |

Thank you for the info . I will be very happy to find a solution that will help users to use the device on their Windows 7 and 8.1 OS. From this huge number of PCs, everyone cannot afford to replace the OS just for driver incompatibility or other restrictions such as specialized HW for POS systems. If a method is found, however, it will be necessary to provide additional information on port mapping issues on windows 7 and 8.1 OS on OS Widows Server 2012 R2 and above. You can also enter a specification of how to perform the tests to know how to best evaluate the problem. well thank you |

CP210x and windows 7/8/8.1 drivers support remote desktop services - help
Hi Marao, we use CP210x - specifically 10C4. I attach a description PDF below. According to the tests I did it looks like a problem with drivers for Windows 7 /8.1. With the Windows 10 version with Universal drivers, the USB converter works correctly. I assume a problem on the driver side and correct COM port mapping to the terminal server side. Watching Rx-Tx communication is unusable in this case since no communication to the USB converter is possible from the terminal server. Most of our customers still own Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 on smart devices and upgrade to Windows 10 is not possible due to chipset incompatibility. Therefore, I need help to solve the incompatibility problem with the Windows 7 driver with RDS services. |

Downloading CP210x drivers from Windows Update
On version 6.7. terminal services do not work. It does not communicate COM port on terminal server correctly (driver for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1), driver for Windows 10 works with driver OK. Does anyone know about the version that works well on Windows 7?
