I am working on a project based on si1153 optical sensor. I am doing some initial tests using the Programmer's Toolkit but I cant figure out which is the appropriate LED current for my project.
I guess that by increasing the current, I increase the range the sensor can work, is that right?
What would be the correct method to define the current? I couldnt find any curve or something in the datasheet related to that.
Many thanks in advance!!
Yes, the sensor will have better sensitivity with higher current settings and thus you should be able to detect objects at longer distance.
You'll have to experiment the current setting with your own system prototype. There's no curve or equation to define the current setting vs detection range.
