I'm trying to use the SiLabs USB debug adapter to debug a C8051F380 8-bit MCU. I've created a project and it builds without errors. However, when I attempt to launch the debugger I get the following message:
Failed to launch the TCF agent that hosts peer "Silicon Labs TCF Agent". Cause: Failed to create process: 'C:\SiliconLabs\SimplicityStudio\v2\common\tcf\siagent.exe'
Failed to create process: 'C:\SiliconLabs\SimplicityStudio\v2\common\tcf\siagent.exe'
Cannot run program "C:\SiliconLabs\SimplicityStudio\v2\common\tcf\siagent.exe" (in directory "C:\SiliconLabs\SimplicityStudio\v2\common\tcf"): CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified
I don't know what this means or how to even go about fixing it.
Thanks for your help,
Does C:\SiliconLabs\SimplicityStudio\v2\common\tcf\siagent.exe exist? It should. If not, then it sounds like somehow your installation got corrupted. Can you attach your error log? You can get to it by Help->About->Installation Details->Configuration->View Error Log.
In the meantime you might try reinstalling the product.
