I recently bought a Thunderboard sense2 and was trying to get sensor data using VCOM port. However I noticed that I am able to get the data out from VCOM only when my thunderboard is connected to the Mobile app.
Is it possible to get sensor data directly without connecting to Mobile app? I have found similar questions in the forum but was not able to find any clean explanation on how to do above.
Really appreciate any help. Was stuck with this for a week now!
Of course that's possible. I suppose that you are using the soc-thunderboard-Sense-2 example, and if dive into the source code you can find that the sensors will not be initialized until BLE connection established. You can just modify the source code to initialize the sensors after boot up, and output the sensor data via VCOM.
Thanks @yucheng I am using soc-thunderboard example . I cannot find soc-thunderboard-sense2 example in SS4. I have only two examples under thunderboard which are 'soc-empty', 'soc-thunderboard'
I am using Bluetooth SDK version 2.13.6
Gecko SDK version 2.7.6
Can you please guide where can I get the soc-thunderboard-sense2 example?
Yes, that's the same project I'm using (Actually, if you use the latest SSv5 with v3.0.0.x Bluetooth SDK, the example project name will be SoC-Thunderboard-Sense-2). Please check the source code of your project and follow the steps mentioned above to output the sensor data via VCOM.
