We want to use the WF121 and talk to it over the UART to a host processor which has a full stack and we are running multiple protocols and sockets and would like to configure the payload to and payload from the WF121 over the UART to our host to have "Ethernet frame" data be transported.
We do not want to use the facility of UDP, or TCP/IP mode like is described in section 5.4 of "BLUEGIGA WI-FI SOFTWARE API DOCUMENTATION", but would like a mode called "Ethernet frame" mode
Does anyone know if that can be done?
have you seen a WF121 bridge mode?
As i understood, you want to bypass a build-in TCPIP stack. This is only possible on WF121 when using bridge mode.
You can find some information about Bridge mode here:
https://www.silabs.com/documents/login/reference-manuals/Bluegiga-WiFi-Software-3.0-API-RM.pdf ( paragraph 5.8).
Also, here is full Application Note related to setting a module into Bridge mode.
