I'm working with Gecko OS Studio in conjunction with a WGM160 dev kit / module.
I have created my own index.html file and I'm working with jquery, as you can see in the attached manifest.cfg file.
I like to use the following code for testing a "get request" to the webserver via softAP in the WGM160:
The code can be seen in the attached jpg file. For what every reason, my question will not be send, if I'm using the html-code here in text form or as a code snippet. I tried it several times with no success. So this way.
I have 2 questions:
1.) What should the "var URL = ????" in the code should look like, so that the request will be send in a proper way?
2.) Do you have recommondations for example apps from the Gecko OS examples, which I can use for testing and understanding the native C API / related functions in a better way and to make my request work in the end?
Many thanks in advance!
Please review these example apps that show how to to use a custom webapp hosted on the device:
thanks for your infos.
I created the two examples and I'm getting for both the same starting information on the device console, of course with an app specific difference:
Accelerometer Stream Demo Starting.... or 3D Demo starting ...
Initializing Hurricane-specific hardware ...
Failed to init board specific hw, err:7012
Failed to initialize hardware
Are the two examples only written for the hurricane hardware or can it be changed to my SLWSTK6121A board by some init / ini changes?
Yes that is expected. These example apps are mainly built for another target board (Hurricane) which is based on the same module WGM160P but with many different peripherals. The board is not available though at distributors and it was meant to be used for Silicon Labs internal demos. More here.
When I mentioned the apps above, I meant to refer to the source code rather than running them on WSTK target. Please review the code and you will easily find out how to follow the example in your own application you build.
thanks again for your support.
I disabled all the hurricane hardware related code and got it to work. Now I can see, how the dialog between the browser and the WGM160 is working and where I add my own code, both on the web app side and on the application side.
Your info was very helpfull!
Is it planned to transcribe the example code for the WSTK target?
Glad it worked for you. At the moment we don't have plans to provide more example apps as long as the main functionality is demonstrated using another example.
