This week Silicon Labs released additional Wireless Gecko SoCs known as the EFR32xG12 family. These devices provide larger memory options suited for applications needing multiple wireless protocols or designs wanting to use internal flash where external dataflash was previously required. Additionally, these new Wireless Gecko variants include additional or enhanced peripheral features not previously available on the EFR32xG1, such as more USARTs and Timers, Embedded Trace Macrocell (ETM) support, more GPIOs, Capacitive Touch support, and Silicon Labs' unique low-energy sensing feature (LESENSE), as well as an improved radio capable of handling Bluetooth 5 and Wireless MBus.
