How does a ZED choose a parent?
When a ZED tries to find a parent it makes a beacon request. If more than one parent responds to this request, how does the ZED choose the parent?
When multiple parents respond to a beacon request and all parents have the proper capacity for the node type of the requesting device, the node whose beacon has the best LQI (link quality indication) is chosen as the parent. If several beacons are heard with the same highest LQI measurement, the first one of these received will be chosen.
