Silicon Crystal Oscillators (XOs)

The Silicon Labs family of silicon crystal oscillators provides comparable performance to similar crystal oscillators. By leveraging innovative stabilization circuitry, our silicon oscillators eliminate the need to use a mechanical resonator (quartz, MEMs, or SAW) and they can exceed jitter performance typically suited for high-volume applications. This technology uses a standard CMOS IC manufacturing flow to enable short lead times for any frequency oscillator between 0.9 and 200 MHz. Our simplified oscillator process flow also enables highly cost-effective solutions, especially for applications requiring higher frequencies and differential formats (LVPECL, LVDS, and HCSL).
