SmartClock Synthesizer

Si5118A-AM2 is a SmartClock™ synthesizer designed for systems where health monitoring and fault detection of a reference clock are needed in between a frequency source (such as an FPGA, SoC, or oscillator) and the endpoint device receiving the reference clock. The Si5118A-AM2 actively monitors the input reference clock, and provides a signal flag output to an external microcontroller or system safety manager if a fault condition occurs. The Si5118A-AM2 also features a redundant local backup reference source, which can be enabled in the event of a fault on the primary input reference source.
