I am following the steps suggested by AN945 using the USB-Serial CP2102 adapter, however I am getting the following error:
The adapter is connected on P0.4 and P0.5 pins.
thanks for the help!
a. which revision of BB1 device you are working on?
b. have you try to make the device enter bootloader and stay in bootloader?
c. I guess you has use P0.4 as EFM8BB1 UART TX and P0.5 as RX.
refer to table 3.2 of the datasheet.
d. are you using a pre-programmed bootloader or a customize UART bootloader on the target?
You could get the bootloader source code in the simplicity studio, you may customize and debug it to see why you see the error.
Thank you for your help.
I checked the points you raised and they were correct.
After many attempts and using the SS debugger as you recommended, I noticed that the problem was the connection of the P0.5 (RX) pin with the VCON interface, as it is always connected to the VCON and this was generating conflict with the CP2102 module :
The solution was to disable the VCON interface by grounding the VCON enable pin (P2.1):
After that it worked perfectly.
thanks and glad to know you get it worked.
