Have anyone tried Simplicity studio on Ubuntu 19.04?
How did you get it to run?
The problem is that libwebkitgtk1.0 is missing from this version of Ubuntu.

Hi Thomas,
I have not used Ubuntu 19.04, but I think you can get the missing libwebkitgtk1.0 by either installing gnucash or webkitgtk2. Other customers have said both those packages include libwebkitgtk1.0.
Please let me know if that works for you or not.
Thank you,
jpitt

Hi,
Tried installing gnucash, but did not include the library in Ubuntu 19.04 at least.
webkitgtk2 is also not availible for this version of ubuntu.
Is Silabs going to ship a new version of the studio to fix this issue, or is the solution to stick with the old version of ubuntu?

Hi Thomas,
I will create a bug report about this issue. Silicon Labs official policy on Linux support is that the last few Ubuntu LTS releases are supported, since 19.04 is not an LTS it will not have official support or testing.

I ended up downgrading to the LTS release of Ubuntu.
However, I am wondering if there was a conclusion regarding this issue?

Try the attached version of the setup script. Worked for me. It is just a quick fix. It probably won't work on older Ubuntus.
I am in ubuntu 18, and the default the setup.sh throws me error
radev1@RADEV1:~/Documents/RA-DEVSW/SimplicityStudio-v4/SimplicityStudio_v4$ sudo ./setup.sh
create /usr/share/applications/studio.desktop

Hi @manojkumar subramaniam,
Which version of Ubuntu 18 are you using? Simplicity Studio is always tested with the LTS version which is 18.04 and I do see lib32ncurses5 available for it. I did see some other programs (not Simplicity Studio) upgraded to lib32ncurses6, but I get an unable to locate package error for when I try to install it with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.
Thank you,
jpitt

Hi,
I managed to install it on Ubuntu 19.10. Just use this setup.sh
I can confirm the installation routine with the modified script but on my Ubuntu 19.10 maschine the SDK package manager hangs and don't accept a "Next" button click when I tried to confirm the SDK selection.
