Si3480MS8-KIT

Hardware Overview

The Si3480MS8-KIT is intended for detailed engineering evaluation of the Si3452 in conjunction with the Si3480 8-port Power Manager. It implements a complete mid-span power injector with intelligent power management and LED display. The Si3480 power manager is controlled via jumpers with no software programming required. The design features Two Si3452 devices, an Si3480 power manager, and an Si3500 dc-dc converter to complete the power-managed PSE system.

Operating Requirements

The user is expected to provide an appropriate, high-voltage power supply to fit the target application requirements. The power supply should be 45 to 57 V for PoE (IEEE 802.3af) or 51 to 57 V for PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at). Since the Si3452 can supply over 30 W to each port, the two Si3452 controllers in the Si3480MS8-KIT system can deliver over 240 W of total power.
