High-Performance, Analog-Intensive MCUs
Silicon Labs' high-performance, analog-intensive microcontroller family includes both 8-bit 8051 MCU and 32-bit ARM® Cortex-M3 devices, packed with highly-integrated, high-performance analog to reduce system cost and simplify design.
ADC resolutions range from 10 to 24 bits, and other on-chip analog peripherals include DACs (resolutions to 12-bits), a voltage reference, comparators, a temperature sensor and oscillators. Digital peripherals can include external memory interface, timers, programmable counter array (PCA) modules and UART, USART, SPI, I2C/SMBus, I2S and more.
The Precision32™ 32-bit MCUs include 6 high-drive I/Os (5–300 mA each; 1.8–6 V) that can directly drive high-power LEDs, small motors, buzzers and power MOSFETs. In addition, these MCUs provide up to 16 capacitive touch channels to eliminate the need for separate touch sensor ICs (<1 µA wake-on-touch average current). The patented crossbar architecture allows for unprecedented flexibility for peripheral mix and pin location for these peripherals.
