The Si2457 ISOmodem is a complete two-chip 56,000 bps modem integrating Silicon Laboratories proprietary Direct Access Arrangement (DAA) to provide a globally programmable telephone line interface with an unparalleled level of integration.
Available in two small outline packages, this compact modem solution eliminates the need for a separate DSP, modem controller, codec, isolation transformer, relays, opto-isolators, clocking crystal and 2-4 wire hybrid. The Si2457 ISOmodem provides conventional data formats with connect rates of up to 56,000 bps, full duplex over the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and includes V.42, V.42bis and MNP 2-5 on-chip. The ISOmodem also features fast connect modes, parallel phone detection, line-in-use monitoring, caller ID and excellent surge immunity. This device is ideal for embedded modem applications due to its flexibility, small footprint and minimal external component count.
