Overview
Advertisement is one of the most fundamental operations in Bluetooth low energy wireless technology. Advertisement provides a way for devices to broadcast their presence, allow connections to be established, and optionally broadcast data like the list of supported services, or the device name and TX power level. A Bluetooth low energy device that is advertising broadcasts packets on one or multiple advertisement channels, which remote devices can then pick up. This curriculum will walk you through the basics and then introduce you to customizing your Bluetooth advertising data packets. It also introduces the Scan request reporting event introduced in Bluetooth 5.x.
