ZM5101

Z-Wave 500 Modules

ZM5101 devices combine a Z-Wave SD3502 SoC with a built-in microcontroller (MCU) and Z-Wave RF transceiver, crystal and passive RF components in a single 8 mm x 8 mm module, making ZM5101 ideal for small footprint, single MCU products such as thermostats, remote controls, lighting control and USB sticks. The ZM5101’s large I/O count and generous memory support compact, single microcontroller Z-Wave solutions for complex applications.

ZM5101 devices address the need for increasingly user-friendly and feature-rich home control applications by providing 128 kB Flash and 16 kB SRAM. The built-in key scanner and infrared controller are ideal building blocks for implementing a universal remote control that supports both learning and sending IR codes, as well as Z-Wave commands. The ZM5101 provides hardware-assisted frequency agility, enabling the module to switch away from a noisy channel without communication or software overhead. Furthermore, the very-low sleep current of ZM5101 addresses the growing need for longer battery life, allowing existing Z-wave products to experience up to double the battery life of current products.

As part of its ongoing commitment to supply continuity, Silicon Labs may provide pin-compatible and functionally equivalent replacement products if Silicon Labs determines, at its discretion, that supply chain adjustments, product improvements, market conditions, or similar business or technical issues make this necessary or advisable.

If for business, technical or other reasons beyond Silicon Labs’ reasonable control, Silicon Labs finds that it is necessary to discontinue a product, our policy is to issue an EOL notice that provides 6 months from notice to place final orders and 12 months from notice for final shipments. This policy complies with the JEDEC standard EIA/JESD48 that is commonly used in the semiconductor industry. We provide the required support for a product for its full life cycle.
