About the Edge Intelligence Challenge
The Edge Intelligence Challenge aims to support hardware innovators, startups, MSMEs and academic institutions in developing workable prototypes using Silicon Labs’ wireless SoCs, that utilize Matrix Vector Processor - also called Hardware Accelerator – to speed up computing inference times while consuming low energy. In particular, the AI/ML-enabled EFR32MG26 and SiWx917 wireless SoCs are well suited for Machine Learning at the Edge.
We invite participants to make the best use of these SoCs to create real-world edge intelligence applications that have the potential to be scaled up for commercial purposes. The final winners will be awarded a total prize money worth ₹5,00,000.
This enables entrepreneurs to launch technology startups and benefit from the technologies they have developed.

FAQ
- Stage 1: An open invitation is issued. Applicants must submit a 2-page abstract of their implementation plan (including diagrams if any) as a PDF and capabilities (in presentation format, max 5 slides excluding title and end slides, if shortlisted). A panel shortlists around 10 teams (maximum 3 members per team). A half-day webinar on Edge ML and the Edge Intelligence Challenge will be held on TBD.
- Stage 2: A one-day hands-on workshop is conducted for the 10 shortlisted teams to understand the technology. Each team receives Rs.10,000/- for project development expenses and an edge ML Kit from Silicon Labs to develop their Proof-Of-Concept (POC).
- Stage 3: The top ten teams develop their POCs. A panel reviews the POCs and announces the grand prize winner. POCs remain with Silicon Labs. The Total Grand Prize is ₹5 Lakhs, distributed among the top three finalists.
