This curriculum provides a practical introduction to developing Bluetooth LE applications using Zephyr on Silicon Labs wireless microcontrollers.
Overview
In this video we continue building our Bluetooth LE key finder application as part of a series, implementing the Bluetooth Find Me Locator role. This allows the device to find other key finders and trigger alerts on them.
We extend the application to operate in central mode, scanning for nearby devices, connecting to them, and interacting with their GATT services. Following the Find Me profile, the device discovers the Immediate Alert Service and writes to the Alert Level characteristic to trigger alerts on remote devices.
To support this behavior we expand the application’s state machine to handle scanning, connecting, service discovery, and writing, along with handling errors during the process.
By the end of this video your device can operate in both Target and Locator roles, enabling peer-to-peer interaction between key finders.
