Learn about developing Bluetooth devices using Silicon Lab's secure, intelligent, connected microcontrollers
Overview
Ambient IoT is becoming one of the fastest growing sectors for the Internet of Things with numerous device makers looking to provide high performance and reliability while running from battery-less power sources. This video shows how to get started creating Bluetooth applications that meet these requirements using the xG22-EK8200A Energy Harvesting kit from Silicon Labs and e-peas. The kit includes:
- EFR32xG22E Explorer Kit - the SoC on this board is designed specifically for Energy Harvesting applications and supports the use of Bluetooth LE and Zigbee wireless protocols
- Battery Shield - provides power from a coin-cell battery allowing evaluation of low power scenarios
- Kinetic Button Shield - provides bursts of energy to transmit data packets
- Dual Harvester Shield - provides for the collection, storage and use of power over time, energy can be harvested from one or two sources at the same time allowing a wide range of harvesting devices to be explored
